There's Something About Donna...
Donna creates activities in the program that give clients a safe relationship/outlet to explore their inner worlds and to consider taking risks for their external one. She listens from her heart. Donna teaches her clients to be more intentional in their choices and less impulsive in their vices.
As a "Duty Fulfiller", Donna has an excellent ability to take any task and competently define it, organize it, and implement it through to completion. She is a hard worker who does not allow obstacles to get in the way of performing her duties.
Donna has the attitude of "I am not listening to problems, I am listening for solutions." As a Youth Development Specialist, Donna is able to detach herself from client's problems and keep an eye on the goals of the clients; to have her clients leave feeling calmer, kinder, and more optimistic. These personal traits along with her work ethic, makes Donna an exemplary deliverer of supportive services.
Donna not only demonstrates cultural diversity, she also demonstrates caring acceptance of clients with a varied sexual orientation or identity, financial status and developmental disabilities. Her patience to explore pain and confusion often produces meaningful hope for her clients.
Donna's upbringing was one that encompasses her way of life of charity, volunteer, and courage. For example: spending her honeymoon helping the poor in the Dominican Republic or working with inner-city students and families. Donna governs her life with compassion for the poor and vulnerable - recognizing respect and dignity in people's lives as "All Equal in God's Eyes".
Donna has a strong belief in laws and traditions and expects the same from others. Donna tends to believe that things should be done according to procedure and plans to inspire solidarity and integrity in the workplace. Her appearance, demeanor and communication exemplify a dutiful employee. Always punctual and generous with her volunteer efforts, she represents dignified and respectful behavior, and is always considerate of privacy and confidentiality.
Donna's strong sense of duty and ability to see what needs to be done in any situation, without reservation, serves as a quiet sensitive supporter to clients, their families, administrators and co-workers. She is able to identify the emotional needs of those whom she interacts with.
