7th Annual Gala Breaks Fundraising Records!
A glittering event with star power and a special appearance by a hometown
boy, the Trinitas Health Foundation Gala brought 500
guests together to celebrate the ties that bind patients, their families,
physicians and staff together in quality healthcare at
Trinitas Regional Medical Center. The early May event, aptly titled "We Are Family!",
successfully raised more than $500,000 to benefit the
hospital.
Sparkling with the energy of recording star Sister Sledge and resonating
with the heartwarming support of WABC-TV Eyewitness News
journalist NJ Burkett, the Gala was a night to remember. The Palace at
Somerset Park was the venue for the evening of dining,
socializing and dancing to the disco-era songs of Sister Sledge. Serving as
master of ceremonies, NJ Burkett recalled his childhood
in Elizabeth and the positive experience his family at St. Elizabeth
Hospital.
Speaking of today's Trinitas, Mr. Burkett pointed out the hospital's many
new services and programs, including the new Trinitas
Comprehensive Cancer Center, the recently-dedicated Oncology Patient Care
Unit, and the initiation of elective angioplasty services.
"You have achieved so much, and I could not be more proud of my hometown
hospital!" he exclaimed.
Nadine Brechner, Executive Director of the Trinitas Health Foundation,
praised the family atmosphere that exists at Trinitas. "We
care, trust and support each other - and this is what family is all about.
When patients come to Trinitas, their families expand as
our doctors, nurses and staff become trusted and valued family members. A
permanent bond forms, a bond that makes Trinitas unique."
