Fielding one of the largest teams at the Union County HeartWalk,
Trinitas Regional Medical Center family and friends raised over $13,000 for the American
Heart Association's fight against heart disease and stroke.
Rainy weather did little to dampen the spirits of the 130 Trinitas walkers
who gathered with teams from across Union County to walk a three-mile course
on the campus of Schering-Plough Corporation, Kenilworth.
The Trinitas team was organized under the guidance of Trinitas chairperson
Nancy DiLiegro, Director, Clinical Services, and Ann Marie Scanlon,
Diagnostic Imaging.
As a heart attack survivor, Michael McIntyre, Director, Support Services,
served as "Red Cap Chairperson" for the event. Red Cap Survivors from across
the County gathered at the walk to promote awareness of the symptoms of
heart disease and to serve as inspiration for those who have suffered a
cardiac or stroke event.
The event reflected Trinitas Regional Medical Center's commitment to treating heart
disease.
