TRINITAS WELCOMES 2007 BRIDGE PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS
The Bridge Program of the Education Department of Trinitas Hospital continues to offer a specialized orientation program for newly-licensed registered nurses by helping to “bridge the gap” between the role of expert student nurse to that of novice Registered Nurse. The program, which focuses on transition, includes two weeks of classroom orientation, followed by two weeks of clinical instruction. Upon completion of this first phase of orientation, the novice nurses are paired with preceptors on their respective units for an additional eight weeks to help them become acclimated to the Trinitas Hospital system. Supervised patient care, which incorporates nursing skills, medication administration, hand-off communication, and documentation occurs during the program. Emphasis is placed on the development of critical thinking skills.

Trinitas Hospital is proud to embrace these 14 new registered nurses who have chosen Trinitas as their place of employment from the following Schools of Nursing: Trinitas School of Nursing, St. Francis Medical Center, Seton Hall University, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Ramapo College, Raritan Valley Community College, Muhlenberg School of Nursing, Ocean County College, and the University of Delaware.
