Erin Go Bragh!
Trinitas employees, family members, and friends joined in the celebration of
Irish heirtage in the 11th Annual Union County St. Patrick's Day Parade through
the streets of downtown Union on March 10. Cold wintry weather of only a few
days before gave way to sunny skies and comfortable temperatures for marchers
and spectators alike.
New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine and Mayor J. Christian Bollwage of Elizabeth
were among the dignitaries who lent their support to the event celebrating the
commitment and bravery of New Jersey firefighters.
The Trinitas Regional Medical Center contingent was one of 80 marching groups that included
fire departments from around the state, bagpipers, local high school marching
bands, string bands, Junior ROTC units from area high schools, Irish Step
dancers, and numerous "proud-to-be-Irish-for-the-day" groups from around the
metropolitan area.
Doug Harris, Trinitas Hosptial's Director of Marketing and Public Relations, and
John Lanier, Nurse Manager of Geriatrics, were members of the St. Patrick's
Honor Guard who marched at the head of the parade, accompanying the St.
Patrick's Day Parade Committee.

the parade route. Undoubtedly, the most popular member of the Trinitas group was
English Bulldog "Winston" of the Animal Assisted Activities program who
delighted spectators all along the parade route!
